St. Francis High School Athletics

Carlos grew up in Chula Vista (San Diego).

He attended Hilltop High School where he was selected All-League as a senior and played club volleyball for Seaside. In his two years at Hope International University, he was named the Most Inspirational Player by

coaches/players and was part of a team that finished 5th at the 2015 NAIA National Championships. During his tenure as a varsity assistant coach at La Cañada High School(2019-2021), he assisted a girls team that won the Rio Hondo League and a boys team that made the ClF Semifinals. Since 2019, he has been coaching girls and boys club teams at San Gabriel Elite VBC in Glendale, CA. He recently led a team to a top 25 finish at the AAU Boys Junior Nationals-Open Division (17s). During the 2024 season, his team earned a silver medal at the USAV Boys Junior National Championships-Club Division(14s). In addition to that same season, he also led a girls Elite team to a bronze medal finish at the Emperor's Cup-Club Division(18s). He is also the varsity assistant coach at Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy.
