St. Francis High School Secures First Win of 2025; Dominates Bishop Alemany 38–6

In a much-needed breakthrough, the St. Francis High School Golden Knights earned their first victory of the 2025 season in commanding fashion, defeating Bishop Alemany High School 38–6. After a challenging start to the year, the Golden Knights reminded everyone why their program is built on pride, resilience, and tradition.

The Game
From the opening kickoff, St. Francis came out focused and fast. The Knights jumped out to a 24–0 halftime lead and never let up, controlling the pace of play and dictating the tone on both sides of the ball. Alemany simply couldn't find a rhythm — and the numbers tell the story.

Through three quarters, Bishop Alemany managed just 41 total yards of offense — 23 rushing and 18 passing. The St. Francis defense swarmed the line of scrimmage, clogged running lanes, and disrupted every Alemany attempt to gain momentum.
Junior wide receiver Mason Maddox summed up the team's energy perfectly after the win:
"Winning is the best. It's the best feeling right now. I can't explain how happy I am. On the short side of the field our defense did well making sure the holes were filled up during the run and making sure I was getting physical. Go Knights!"
Sophomore wide receiver Del Rock echoed that sentiment, highlighting the preparation that fueled the victory:
"It feels great and feels surreal. Lots of preparation came into this and a great week of practice. Running the ball was the key — the O-line was strong, which created passing opportunities."
What Makes This Win Significant
  • Breaking the drought: After a tough stretch of games, this first win represents a turning point for the program.
  • Defensive dominance: Holding an opponent to only 41 total yards through three quarters showcased a defensive masterclass.
  • Momentum builder: This victory gives the Golden Knights renewed energy and belief heading into the heart of their schedule.
Key Observations
  1. Defense sets the tone: St. Francis controlled the line of scrimmage and completely neutralized Alemany's offense.
  2. Offense finds its rhythm: The Knights' balanced attack produced 38 points and showed creativity in both play-calling and execution.
  3. Team unity: From start to finish, the Knights played with energy, trust, and belief — trademarks of Golden Knight football.
Looking Ahead

With this win, St. Francis regains momentum and confidence as they prepare for the next challenge. The coaching staff will look to build on this strong defensive foundation while continuing to develop offensive consistency.

Final Thoughts

For a team that has battled adversity early in the season, this was more than just a victory — it was a statement. The Golden Knights reminded everyone that when they play together, stay disciplined, and believe in their preparation, they can compete with anyone.
Interim Athletic Director Todd Wolfson praised the team's effort and character, saying:
"I'm incredibly proud of how our boys responded. They've faced adversity with maturity and belief, and tonight they showed what it means to be a Golden Knight — toughness, brotherhood, and heart. This is the type of win that can spark a team and remind everyone what we're capable of."
